A branch of the Diocesan ECW, is an organization of Church women who support the Church and community through on-going and special activities: Host Bishop's Tea, Funeral receptions, Homecoming, annual Ruritan dinner, Senior Luncheons and Ladies Tea; fund Founders Memorial Scholarship, UTO; fund and support many outreach and service needs within the church and in the community, such as LEAP and swimming lesson scholarships, Bishop Wilme, Shrinemont, Kosovo families, OVFD, Parish Nurse training The Altar Guild is composed of those persons serving in preparing the church for worship. They prepare the altar and sanctuary for the Eucharist or other order of worship, care for vessels, linens, hangings, and flowers. Organized in 1992, the Leeds Parish Crafts meets weekly to produce items to be sold for outreach and church projects. Bible study sessions are held with the Rector during the weekly work meetings. There are two main sale outlets: Applefest and St. Nickolas Day sale. See "Special Events" for more details. A vital part of the worship service, the Leeds choir performs weekly at the 10:30 service and at other special and seasonal services. A highlight of each year is the annual Renaissance Dinner and Musicfest, celebrating either 12th Night or Carnival. A festive themed evening of dinner and music is preceeded by Evensong service. Begun in 1998, the Leeds Church Youth Group is designed for ages 12-18 to provide fun, service, worship and fellowship opportunities in a Christian setting. Activities include outings, Bible study, and participation in area events such as the regional "20 Hour Fast" for World Vision. Customarily a service performed by the youth of the church, the Acolytes assist the clergy in the execution of the services of worhip. Newly commissioned position within Leeds Parish. Provide and coordinate medical advice and services to Leeds members and the surrounding community, including activities such as flu shots, screenings, grief counseling seminar, massage therapy. Also providing social well-being through the establishment of a Men's group program. |
