Our Youth Ministries

"God our Father, you see your children growing up in an unsteady and confusing world: Show them that your ways give more life than the ways of the world, and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals.  Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start.  Give them strength to hold their faith in you, and to keep alive their joy in your creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen."

-Prayer for Young Persons, Book of Common Prayer, p. 829

  • Youth Group
Begun in 1998, the Leeds Church Youth Group is designed for ages 12-18 to provide fun, service, worship and fellowship opportunities in a Christian setting.  Activities include a pool party, a weekend retreat at Camp Moss Hollow  Bible study, a mission trip, and participation in events such as the "30 Hour Fast" for World Vision.  If you are interested in learning more about our youth group, please email Stephanie Burke, the youth group coordinator, at leedschurch@aol.com.

  • Confirmation Class
The Leeds confirmation program is designed to help youth make a "mature affirmation of faith."  Since, most of our youth were baptized as infants, confirmation is a chance for them to decide if they want to recommit themselves to the Church and the Christian faith.  The next confirmation class is scheduled to start in the fall of 2012.  If you are interested in learning more about confirmation, please email our Rector, the Rev. McIntosh, at leedsrector@aol.com.

  • Acolyting

Starting at age 12, the youth of Leeds are invited and encouraged to serve as acolytes at the 10:30 AM Holy Eucharist.  Acolytes assist the clergy and other worship assistants in the leadership of the service in a variety of ways.  Episcopalians believe that our prayer shapes our belief.  In this way, teens undergo Christian formation when they acolyte and/or participate regularly in Sunday worship.  If you are interested in having your son or daughter be an acolyte, please email the Rev. McIntosh, our Rector, at leedsrector@aol.com.
